Cercania / 1

Choreographed by Myriam Allard

Performed by Myriam Allard, Hedi El Moro and musician TBA

A piece for one dancer, one singer and one percussionist, proposes a purified and essential flamenco, one entirely focused on the rhythm and the drama of the dance.

First premiered at Dusk Dances 2009.

1981 FM

Choreographed by Throwdown Collective

Performed by Zhenya Cerneacov, Mairéad Filgate, Brodie Stevenson.

Throwdown Collective returns with their third
and most daring piece yet. This time the dynamic trio combines
their signature high-paced and energetic physicality with a vaguely vintage car.
Come see the trio re-invent the classic afternoon drive.

First premiered at Dusk Dances 2013.

Unquiet Winds

Choreographed by Denise Fujiwara

Performed by Sylvie Bouchard and Brendan Wyatt

Unquiet Winds was inspired by medieval Japanese and European love poems. Its creation employs principles of Japanese Butoh dance.

I saw a girl under green laurel
Colder and whiter than the snow
Untouched by the sun for many years
”.
Francesco Petrarch

Imperceptible
It withers in the world
This flower-like human heart

Weeping Meadow and Dust of Time

Choreographed by Julia Garlisi

Performed by Julia Garlisi, Georgia Simms, Jasmin McGraw, Jenna Oxley
Music: Eleni Karaindrou. Costumes: Vera Garlisi

Weeping Meadow and Dust of Time is a conceptual journey
of four women through space and time. The foundation of this journey
pushes the boundaries of form and human architecture.
It is physical and technical in nature but communicates insights of isolation
and community. The women move through and around each other
in a cyclical manner struggling for the same ideals. This piece brings up the question…do we ever get to where we desire to be?

Premieres at Dusk Dances Hamilton 2014.
